The historic Guenther House was built nearly 150 years ago by the founder of Pioneer Flour Mills. Today this historic building is home to a museum, gift shop, and restaurant. The Guenther House restaurant offers breakfast all day long and has some of the best baked goods you’ve ever tasted.
Built in the 1920s, the dining room has a unique Art Nouveau style with a beautiful view of the San Antonio River. Diners at the Guenther House enjoy the relaxing atmosphere and the great food. Reservations are recommended as many folks have discovered this charming little restaurant. Long waits are to be expected, but it’s easy to pass the time in the museum, gift shop, or by the river watching the ducks.
Dick’s Last Resort, on the other hand is “the place your mother warned you about.” This lively hotspot is open from 11 am to 2 am seven days a week. Enjoy live music with no cover charge, party packages, great food, and great times at Dick’s. The beer selection is excellent and the menu of specialty cocktails is extensive. The menu is extremely varied so it should satisfy any diner.
The wait staff is attentive and humorously rude. Be warned that the off-color jokes may not suit everyone’s sense of humor, but it’s all in good fun. Check out Dick’s Last Resort for a roaring good time on the riverfront.
Located inside the Hotel Valencia, V Bar is an ultra-modern drinking experience. Elegant and intimate, V Bar offers privacy and many opportunities for a dramatic entrance. They don’t come any swankier then V Bar and this hotspot is a veritable singles Mecca. This trendy bar is a great place to relax after work or to enjoy the jumping social scene.
