Budget Dining in San Antonio

By The Alamo Film Site

For a fun time with great food check out Rosario’s. This Mexican restaurant has a great menu filled with authentic Mexican cuisine. You won’t believe how affordable the items on the menu are and the margaritas are to die for. The staff is nice and attentive and there is live music playing every Friday and Saturday so you can dance the night away.

The fantastic atmosphere, service, and food make this a definite stop for diners on a budget. Rosario’s can get pretty busy so reservations are recommended. You can walk in, though, if you don’t mind a wait. Don’t be afraid to ask where the bathrooms are, either because they’re kind of hidden.

Another excellent budget restaurant in San Antonio is Luby’s Cafeteria. This cafeteria style restaurant is perfect for those days when the only thing that will satisfy is a little bit of everything. The servers are quick to refill your drink or get you a Styrofoam container to take home your leftovers. Perfect for the older set or children, Luby’s offers great food on a budget.

Luby’s offers children’s menus as well as light or heart healthy options. The combos are great money-savers, but pretty much anything on the menu is worth the price. Don’t expect too terribly much, though. Luby’s is a cafeteria restaurant, not the Ritz. Still, Luby’s is a great place to get some real comfort food in San Antonio.

Schilo’s Delicatessen has been a San Antonio landmark since its opening in 1917. This historic restaurant offers huge sandwiches, homemade root beer, and fresh soups. Make sure to try a bowl of their famous split-pea soup. You can have a seat in the large dining room or order your meal to take-out. Try a mug of their root beer or one of the many German and local beers they have on tap.
