Davy Crockett: King of the Wild Frontier
Mike Boldt has been here since the beginning. Starting with the formation of the first couple of Alamo clubs to now, Boldt has greatly contributed to the Alamo field with his artwork, his music, and his ever friendly input of knowledge on the Alamo. And he continues to keep the Alamo torch lit along with the many other Alamo buffs from the baby boomer generation.
About Mike....

Lawrence Harvey as William Barret Travis
"I was born August the 8Th 1951 and the first thing I can recall with real clarity is the coming attraction of Davy Crockett at the Alamo. Something about those ladders on the walls. As the years went by I read every book that I could on the Alamo, Crockett, Bowie or Travis. I remember the thrill of seeing the entire compound on the endpapers of 13 DAYS TO GLORY. I never, in my wildest dreams, thought that I would draw the Alamo compound on the endpapers of another Alamo book, ROLL CALL AT THE ALAMO. That was my first Alamo art project. Since then I have done artwork for, ALAMO DEFENDERS, THE ALAMO, A CULTURAL HISTORY, THE DAVY CROCKETT ALMANAC, EYEWITNESS TO THE THE ALAMO, and THE DAVY CROCKETT CRAZE. I am currently working with Bill Chemerka on redesigning the "look" of the ALAMO JOURNAL.

David Crockett
John Wayne's film THE ALAMO put the final nail in the coffin, as it were. But if I had to choose the greatest contribution the Alamo made to my life I would have to say it's all the people I have met thought the years. Too numerous to list here but they know who they are. They are all friends of the first order. Thanks to the new film, THE ALAMO 2004, I have made the acquaintance of many "new" Alamo buffs. I want to thank all those who contribute to the Alamo Forum and Sentry for keeping the Alamo alive and passing the torch, (like Wayne), to a new generation."
