Billy Bob Thornton in Disney's 2004 epic, The Alamo
The latest Alamo movie to grace the silver screen was Touchstone Picture’s grand $95,000,000 epic one again named, The Alamo. The film, finished in 2003, was scheduled for a release initially in December 2003 and then rescheduled for release in April 2004. This remake was directed by native Texan John Lee Hancock and produced by Ron Howard, Brian Grazer and Mark Johnson. The script was originally developed by John Sayles, Stephen Gaghan and Leslie Bohem, however, John Lee Hancock threw it out for his own version (parts loosely based on the other writers).
Please consult our Frequently Asked Questions page for more in-depth details on the film’s production aspects.
