Only four blocks from the Alamo, this hotel combines the best of comfort and location. Guest rooms can only be described as fabulous, with Egyptian cotton linens and oversized bathrooms. This hotel brings back old style palazzos with an elegance that is thoroughly modern.
Next on our list of top San Antonio hotels we come to another set of sister properties. La Mansion del Rio Hotel is the first of these and offers fabulous accommodations in a setting that is far from pretentious. Like many of the other hotels on the list, this hotel is locate on the historic Riverwalk and near many of San Antonio’s top attractions. The Alamo is only 0.3 miles away! With a spa and delightful on site restaurant, as well as a host of other amenities, this hotel literally brings Spain to San Antonio, which was, in essence, their mission. Equally all encompassing is the Watermark Hotel and Spa, La Mansion’s sister property. This hotel, too, is full of things to do, but doesn’t have that air of haughtiness that can often be associated with high end hotels. With only 99 rooms and a spectacular location less than three blocks from the Alamo, easily within walking distance. While the Watermark easily makes it onto our list of top hotels, this lodging option is amazingly ranked the 2nd most luxurious hotel in the nation! With rooftop dining and flat out amazing guest rooms, its easy to see why this hotel almost gained the top spot in the nation.
Finally we come to the last two hotels on our list of fabulously popular San Antonio lodging options. Both of these hotels are known for their fabulous locations, and the Riverwalk Vista is no exception. More of a bed and breakfast than an actual hotel, the Vista brings a healthy dose of homey comfort to all of its guests. Features like common areas with comfortable seating, as well as a location near the Alamo, and special touches like a teddy bear on the bed bring this hotel to the top of any popularity list. The Westin Riverwalk can by no means be described as a bed and breakfast, but it has all the charm of a smaller inn. The Alamo is less than a half mile away and can easily be reached by walking. Guestrooms here are perfect in their simplicity and every part of the hotel is tinged with that fabulous Southern hospitality!
