When some people travel to San Antonio to see the Alamo, they are looking for an all encompassing themed vacation. They want to eat at Alamo themed restaurants, stay in a hotel with Alamo features, and of course, see the Alamo. Well, unless those travelers have thoroughly researched the San Antonio area, finding those exact specifications may be difficult. However, there are a few hotels in the area that can be correlated to the Alamo, whether it is through location, name, or history.
The first hotel on our list of lodging related to the Alamo is the Best Western Alamo Suites. As mentioned before this is one of those hotels that is related to the Alamo through name only. But, this hotel is only one mile from the hallowed attraction itself. This Best Western has several points to recommend it. First of all, this hotel offers an amenity that is akin to finding buried treasure, free parking in San Antonio! Next we come to the Travelodge Alamo, another hotel bearing the name of the famous mission. Just five blocks away from the Alamo, this hotel is a great place to stay if you are intent on visiting the attraction. This lodging option is fabulous if you are traveling with family because they accept pets, meaning that your four legged friend can enjoy your vacation adventure with you. Other amenities at this hotel include a complimentary Bear Bites breakfast, an outdoor swimming pool, and free wireless internet. Several different room types are available, so finding the accommodations perfect for you and your party shouldn’t be a difficult task.
Finally, we have a hotel that is related to the Alamo both through location and historical value. The Crockett Hotel was built in 1859 and rests on land that was hotly contested during the Battle of the Alamo. The Crockett Hotel is the oldest continually operating hotel was of the Mississippi, and a recent renovation has made it better than ever. The Alamo is literally steps away, and the historic properties of the hotel draw more people every year. The continental breakfast, outdoor swimming pool, and allure of seeing ghosts also bring guests to the Crockett. That’s right, with a hotel this old, there are bound to be a few spirits floating around here and there. Ghost sightings are actually quite common in the hotel, and if you believe in the supernatural, then the Crocket Hotel might be just the place for you to spend your vacation.
